Class Registration and Schedule Planner

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are making changes to our summer and fall offerings. Please view the sections below for more information for the summer and fall quarters.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, courses will be offered online during the summer quarter. No face-to-face, in-person instruction will be delivered, with the possible exception for our allied health and career and technical programs. This is dependent on the guidance we receive from Gov. Jay Inslee regarding the duration of the current Stay Home, Stay Healthy directive.

As you view the class schedule, you’ll see classes are designated in one of three ways: virtual, hybrid/virtual, or online. The following definitions explain the how each type of course will be delivered:

  • Virtual: Class will meet online at the time listed in the class schedule. For example, if your class begins at 9 a.m. in the class schedule, then it will begin at 9 a.m. on Zoom. You will be attending the class at the same time as your classmates, just as you would on campus.
  • Virtual Hybrid: Part of the class will be held online without a set time to attend. The other part will occur at the time listed in a virtual format (e.g.  Zoom).
  • Online: The entire class will be held online without a set time to attend. The class will still have assignment deadlines and due dates.

Note: If, due to the state's response to COVID 19, the teaching modality listed in the class schedule changes before the start of summer quarter, students will be notified by their instructor as soon as possible.

For fall quarter 2020, the majority of classes will be offered virtually, with exceptions made for programs listed in  of the Governors re-opening plan.

Should King County—and Green River College—move to Phase 3, additional in-person offerings could be considered based on the guidance and guidelines provided by Gov. Inslee and healthcare officials. The Executive team will work with instructional deans, division chairs, and programs on the possible options if approved to open.

Classes for fall quarter are designated in these ways:

  • Completely Virtual: Class will meet online at the time listed in the class schedule.

Note: If, due to the state's response to COVID 19, the teaching modality listed in the class schedule changes before the start of fall quarter, students will be notified by their instructor as soon as possible.

The College will withdraw a student from a class if any of the following are true:

  • Students are enrolled in two or more different sections of the same class
  • Students have not met the prerequisites for the class
  • Students have not paid tuition and fees, or signed up for the STEP payment plan, by the designated tuition due date or within the timeframe once the tuition due date has passed.
  • Students not in attendance on the first day of class may be replaced by another student from the waitlist who is in attendance.

Class Waitlist Information

沙巴体育官网地址Green River maintains waitlists for many courses when they become full. If an opening occurs in a class, before the first day of the quarter, the student at the top of the waitlist will be automatically enrolled in the class. Students are placed on waitlists in a first come, first served order. Waitlists are deactivated two (2) days prior to the start of the quarter to allow schedules and class rosters to be prepared the day before classes start. If any students have not received notification by the first day of the quarter that their waitlist status has changed, they need to attend the first class session and/or send an email to the instructor to identify themselves to the instructor.

  • Attending the first class session does not guarantee admittance into the class when on a waitlist.
  • Students not in attendance on the first day of class may be replaced by another student from the waitlist who is in attendance.

The College notifies students by Green River student email if enrolled into a class from the waitlist.

  • It is the student's responsibility to check their waitlist on a daily basis.
  • Once registered into a class from the waitlist, students must pay additional tuition and fees or adjust their schedule to remove unwanted classes by the designated tuition due date for the quarter, or within 3 business days of registration once the tuition due date has passed.
  • Students are responsible for making sure their schedule is accurate by dropping any unwanted classes. Failure to do so may result in a failing grade being posted to the transcript and possible additional tuition and fees.
